Transport   The shortness of distances in Cyprus and the fact that nearly every family has at least one car, which is used for journeys both in and outside the cities, has curbed the development of public transport. In fact, public transport is confined mainly to urban bus services. Taxi services There are many private taxi companies, and these provide services both within the cities and for journeys between the cities and other, non-urban, areas. Road network and driving The road network is being steadily improved with the aim of reducing accidents and of providing the easiest of access to all areas of Cyprus. There are four-lane motorways linking all the cities. Vehicles in Cyprus are right-hand drive and driving is on the left. Fuel can be bought at money-operated pumps outside normal filling station hours.
